This week, I am heading to Rochester, NY which will be my first time in New York! I'll be there for less than 72 hours, but I need to explain what I'm doing there and how this happened because it's SO cool.
I've been a photographer in Arizona full time officially for over a year now which is SO fulfilling to say. Over the last year, I've had the amazing opportunity to second shoot for some of my most favorite wedding photographers which I will 100% list below because I am a firm believer in community over competition:
Andrea Neff | @andrea.neff.photos
Taryn Becchina | @tarynschaephotos
Larissa Stevenson | @larissajeanm
I have second shot for other photographers, but I literally have to tip my hat to those I mentioned above because they keep me on my toes and oh so inspired every single time I shoot alongside of them. Taryn actually shot my sister's wedding last year and Andrea and I went to college together!
Now let's get back to New York chats. About three weeks ago, I was headed to my daily pilates class. One of the local photographers here in Arizona is named Erin and she and I are mutual friends through other photography friends in Phoenix. As I parked for my pilates class, I read a note fro Erin asking if I could second shoot alongside of Taryn for Erin's sister's wedding in Rochester, New York! I've never been to New York and I ADORE Taryn and Erin, so this is like a dream come true for me!
This is going to be a shorter blog post in comparison to my usual, but I just had to chat about how cool the Arizona photographer community can be and how excited I am to be a part of it.
I'll chat when I'm back from NY!
